1. Use of Diesel Generator
A diesel generator is used to generate an electric power supply.
2. Main Parts of Diesel Generator
- Diesel engine
- Air filter
- Fuel tank
- Radiator
- Engine oil depth gauge
- Fuel drain outlet
- Engine oil drain outlet
- Fuel meter
- Coolant drain outlet
- Alternator
- Circuit breaker
- Starter switch
- Emergency stop switch
- Control screen
- Engine oil filter
- Dry battery
- Fuse (10a)
- Exhaust
- Diesel filter
3. Operational Procedure of Diesel Generator
- Use proper PPE (safety shoes, helmet and face mask).
- Open both shutters.
- Check fuel, engine oil and radiator water.
- Make sure all socket switches are off.
- Open control panel door.
- Turn the ignition key to start position.
- Turn the circuit breaker to “on”.
- For shut off the engine first turn the breaker to “off” then rotate the key to “off” position.
4. Safety Precaution of Diesel Generator
- Open the right side cabin no.1 for exhaust.
- Be sure to set the starter switch to “off” position when the engine stopped.
- Breaker can prevent the electric shock. If need to replace, please replace one that has equal degree and performance.
- Do not open the radiator cap while the engine is still hot otherwise the coolant will spill out, result in the severe burning.
- Disconnect the battery cable at the battery negative (-) terminal, then at the battery positive (+) terminal for cleaning the battery.
- Do not operate in confined space or in the building.
5. Use of Portable Generator
Portable Generator is used for generating electric power supply
6. Main Parts of Portable Generator
- Main Frame
- Carburetor
- Ignition switch
- Air filter
- Fuel tank
- AC socket
- Engine oil gauge
- Alternator
- Spark plug
- Starter grip
- Exhaust
- Petrol tap
- Choke lever
7. Operational Procedure of Portable Generator
- Use proper PPE.
- Check fuel and engine oil.
- Make sure that disconnect all electrical load from receptacles.
- Turn the fuel valve to the “on” position.
- If the engine is cold, move choke lever.
- Turn the engine switch to the “on” position.
- Pull the starter grip lightly until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
- When the engine running move the choke lever back to the “off” position.
8. Safety Precaution of Portable Generator
- Keep Work Clean.
- Do not operate in confined space or in the building.
- Do not operate in the presence of flammable liquids & gases.
- When oil level low engine stops immediately.
- Be sure there is no spilled fuel around the spark plug. Spilled fuel may ignite.
- Exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon monoxide. Shut off the engine before performing any maintenance, if the engine must be run, make sure the area is well ventilated.
